NBA: LeBron James becomes the first ever to get SI's Sportsperson of the year award three times.

NBA Awards: LeBron James has many awards in his name and Sports Illustrated gives him once again the sportsperson of the year award. He became the first-ever athlete to be named SI's Sportsperson of the year three times.


Patrick Mahomes, Naomi Osaka, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, LeBron James, and Stewart are 5 athletes who are honored by Sports Illustrated as the Sportsperson of the year in 2020.


LeBron James helped Los Angles Lakers to get their 17th NBA Championship which is most by any team. Now Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers have the same number of NBA Championships.

Alongside LeBron James, Stewart honored Sportsperson of the year. She is the WNBA player. she won the MVP award in 2018 in WNBA but after this, she got a career-ending Achilles injury. She came back strongly from that injury, led her team Seattle Storm to their 4th WNBA championship and she won WNBA finals MVP awards. She won the WNBA finals MVP award second time in her career. She also put a huge effort into supporting Black Lives Matters from the start of the season to the Seattle Storm's Title winning moment.


LeBron James named Sportsperson of the year by Sports Illustrated in 2012 and 2016. LeBron James won NBA titles in both these years. He won an NBA title with his hometown team Cleveland Cavaliers coming back from a 3-1 deficit to one of the best team GSW with a record of 73-9.   


LeBron James is the best player at the age of 35 in the NBA which is quite remarkable. He is the best player in the NBA for many years. He has an impact on a social and political platform. He gives his best to help children to get an education. He put his effort into racial justice, and black community empowerment, and many other good works. He is not just an athlete, he is more than an athlete with his effort to help people and society. He is the greatest player in the NBA by some and second to some. Arguably he is the greatest player of all time with the career he has and how he won an NBA title with 3 different teams with the environment he got.
