Lakers is the most successful franchise in the NBA with Boston Celtics winning 17 NBA titles. Last season Lakers faced many injury problems which put them in the first-round elimination against the Phoenix suns. Anthony Davis and LeBron James suffered an injury at the crucial time of the season and in the playoffs.
Without LeBron James and Anthony Davis Lakers are not the top team in the West and they felt in the last season. Last season LeBron James played in the playoffs with injury as he was not fully healthy and Anthony Davis missed playoff games with the injury.
Dannis Schroder is a very good point guard but he failed to penetrate the opposition team's paint which is the most important part for any point guard. Kuzma has talent but he was unsuccessful with the Lakers despite having the ability to become a very good player because of his attitude problem towards a game of basketball. He has a body of an elite defensive player and has also become a great scorer. Kuzma's performance in the last season was very bad. If Kuzma had played the third guy for the Lakers then it will be a different story for the Lakers. He got many chances to prove himself in the last season in the absence of Anthony Davis, LeBron James, and Dennis.

Now, If the Lakers will get a hand on Russell Westbrook, the Lakers will become stronger. Lakers will become too much stronger in the paint with a player like LeBron James who is already a great scorer in the paint and the Lakers already have Anthony Davis who can play at any position. Lakers also have big rebounder Andre Drummond who averaged 13.7 RPG.
Lakers will become a tough-minded team which is the most important part of any game. LeBron, Russell Westbrook both are very good leaders in the NBA.
The Lakers will become stronger on the defensive end. Russell Westbrook is the kind of player who can give more than 100% for the game. He can give a tough time to any point guard in the league to score on him. Russel Westbrook is one of the fast players in the NBA means the Lakers will get better in the Transition.
There are some drawbacks in this trade for the Lakers. LeBron James and Russell Westbrook both are ball-dominant players. They will have to adjust every position, This will going to be the most difficult task for the Lakers.
Russell Westbrook is not a good 3-point shooter and he can become more dominant in the game which will cause a problem for his team. If he can adjust his more dominant mind for the game then he can be the most helpful player for the team.

LeBron James doesn't need to give too much at the age of 37. Lakers will be more competitive on their own board who will be going to get more rebounds.
The Lakers will be stronger if they will get Russell Westbrook in this trade deadline.
If the Nets are fully healthy and the Lakers will get Russell Westbrook then there are chances that they will meet in the NBA finals. This will be fun for the NBA Fans watching old teammates playing against each other.
